This is Part I of a two part work called The Woods. Part II is the larger artwork (50x60cm) and now available on this website. In this smaller version, I've sought to capture the ethereal and mystical essence of a nighttime forest, contrasted by the robust and gentle presence of a solitary deer. Using acrylics, I layered dark, moody tones with lighter, misty hues to create a sense of depth and intrigue. This painting invites viewers to explore the tranquility and mystery that wrap the forest at night, urging a contemplative silence and a connection to the natural world.
