I love the art of British impressionist John Martin, and this is a tribute to his work and hugely inspired by his summer scenes in France. I love the sense of summer heat, lazy days and neighbourly conversations. I want to be there on that bench, having a cold drink and occasionally wave hello to a neighbour.

I did this in my favourite medium, acrylic on canvas backed by solid FSC certified MDF panel.
