Byblos, Lebanon, Reimagined

Byblos, Lebanon, Reimagined

£495.00Price

In creating this enchanting scene, I wanted to capture a nostalgic yet timeless moment in a serenely reimagined Byblos (Jbeil) in Lebanon. Using acrylics, I blended fine art realism with touches of impressionism to evoke the soft, dreamlike quality of a quiet afternoon / early evening. The gentle play of light and shadow invites the viewer to stroll down this peaceful street that leads to the Jbeil harbour, a place I often visit when I'm in Lebanon, feeling the romance of historic stone walls and the tranquil sea breeze. If you spot a restaurant with a red canopy above the stone walls, then you've spotted where I normally have lunch when I'm visiting. And if you spot a gentle face-off between 2 cats and a dog, then I invite you to read your own story into that. For me, this painting symbolises a slow, beautiful, yet almost lost life by the sea, offering tranquility and a sense of escape in your home.
